Customer Background
Customer is a global manufacturer of agricultural machinery products, encompassing several brands. The company produces machinery designed for improving farming efficiency and productivity. Markets served include grain producers, cash crop farmers, livestock farmers, contractors, vineyards, and ground care professionals.
Challenge
This agricultural machinery manufacturer needed a system to clean soils such as coolant and chips from the manufacturing of cast iron wheels and hubs. This requirement was for general cleaning and the parts needed to be visually clean. The production rate was twelve parts per hour; a fairly low cleaning volume. Dryness was not critical, and residual moisture on parts upon exit was acceptable.
Solution
Alliance provided the customer with a 30-inch wide conveyorized belt cleaning system. The Aquamaster CB-3000X is designed to accommodate large cast parts as required by the customer, with a heavy-duty belt that has closely spaced conveyor rollers. Parts are sprayed from the top and sides in the cleaning system’s wash zone to remove coolant and chips, and then dried using an ambient blower before exiting the washer. Optional belt-type oil skimmer was providing for removing floating oils and micro-filtration was added for removing particulate from the wash solution. Other accessories purchased included an exhaust fan system, solution heat auto-timer, and a load product sensor. The product sensor located on the load end turns on the product sensor and blowers in sequence, and will shut off the machine if a part is not present after the timer runs out in order to save energy. The Aquamaster X-series parts washers utilize vertical pumps for easy maintenance: no seals to change, and the operator does not have to drain the washer fluid for pump change-out.
