Customer Background
The customer is a provider of bus, special transportation commercial vehicles, and parking services located in the eastern United States. Our customer has its own Fleet Operations division which includes a full scale fleet repair garage. Already in service was a competitor’s parts washer but they were not satisfied with the cleaning results and the cost of repair parts, so the decision was made to replace the current parts washer.
Challenge
The customer was cleaning a variety of commercial vehicle parts, some of which were small and light, and others being much larger and heavier. The parts needed to be visually clean upon completion of the cleaning cycle with dryness not being of any importance. One washer was required for all parts with limited floor space availability. Budget concerns and replacement part costs were of high importance.
Solution
From Alliance’s Aquamate line, the RF-3036 rotary table cabinet parts cleaning system was the perfect solution. Rotary table parts washers work well in environments where production is low or on an as-needed basis, such as a garage repair operation. Part contamination was relatively the same for all parts and the parts washer was sized accordingly so all parts were able to fit within the designated wash area (a 30″ diameter parts basket with a 30″ clearance). The customer chose to add optional accessories of a solution heat auto-timer and a belt-type oil skimmer. An intermediate spray bar with flow control valves and swing elbows is provided for lower profile parts. The wash tank is constructed of stainless steel with a 75 gallon capacity.
