Customer Background

Manufacturer of deep drawn shells and metal stampings to customers all over the United States and Canada. Their parts are used in products such as: air compressors, cryogenic tank storage units, filter housings, paint sprayers, fireplaces, electronic enclosures, small engines, and generators.

Challenge

Customer was looking for a cleaning system for removing oils, drawing compound, and light manufacturing dust from steel and stainless steel drawn tank heads.  The heads varied in size but could be as large as 26″ in diameter ranging from 1 to 65 lbs. each in weight.  Based on the typical production volume, the machine conveyor would need to run at approximately 8-10 feet per minute.

Solution

Alliance provided an Aquamaster CB-4200X conveyorized parts cleaning system with a wash, rinse and ambient blowoff modules.  The machine conveyor was 42 wide with a 12 tall product opening.  Given the increased speed of the conveyor, the wash zone length was increased to provide the necessary dwell time for thorough cleaning of the parts.
