Customer Background
Customer is a Tier 1 die-casting supplier to the automotive industry providing a level of quality that meets and exceeds auto manufacturing standards and flexible to cater to unique customer demands.
Challenge
The customer was looking for a cleaning machine to wash, rinse (rust inhibit) and dry aluminum die cast engine manifolds. The anticipated production rate was 1500 pieces / day based on 20 hours of operation with the possibility to go to 2500 pieces / day. The parts needed to be indexed to clean specific passages. Manual loading and unloading of the parts was preferred.
Solution
Alliance provided an Aquamaster CC-2400 with dual chain indexing conveyor for cleaning engine manifold parts. The conveyor dimensional capacity was designed with a 24″ wide x 12″ high product clearance. Part fixtures were provided on 24″ centers to orientate the part for optimal conveying and cleaning. A special 360° return loop conveyor was included, offering sufficient access for part load and unload.
